HOW DO YOU KNOW IF YOU HAVE PTSD

The following is a simple questionnaire to assess if you have ptsd

1.  Do you feel disconnected to the world around you, almost like you re in a bubble?

2.  Do you feel anxious/ panicky most of the time?

3.  Do you have intrusive thoughts which are often displaced i.e. you may have a nasty thought about someone you actually care deeply about?

4.  Do you have nightmares/ night terrors/ flashbacks?

5.  Do you have headaches/ stomachaches on a regular basis that you did not have before?

6.  Do you avoid people, places, or things that remind you of the incident that caused the ptsd ?

7.  Do you feel numb or devoid of feeling or emotion?

8.  Do you suffer with low self -esteem or a lack of confidence since the incident?

9.  Do you suffer from “hypervigilance” or being “on guard” all the time as if you are looking out for dang**?

10.  You may also experience muscle aches and pains, diarrhoea, irregular heartbeat , feelings of pan** and fea*, depressi**, drinking too much alcohol or using drugs (including painkillers)

11.  Are you irritable most of the time and have difficulty concentrating?

If you have 8 or more of these symptoms and they have been ongoing for 2 months or more, there is a strong possibility that you have ptsd but you must speak to your doctor as soon as possible so they can diagnose you fully and you give you a full evaluation.
